🧀 Smoked Cream Cheese (BBQ Style)

🛒 Ingredients

  • 1 block cream cheese (8 oz / 225g)
  • Olive oil or melted butter (1–2 tbsp)
  • BBQ rub (store-bought or homemade)
    • paprika
    • brown sugar
    • salt
    • black pepper
    • garlic powder
  • Optional toppings:
    • honey
    • BBQ sauce
    • jalapeños
    • hot sauce

🔥 Step 1: Prep the Cream Cheese

  1. Take the cream cheese block out of packaging.
  2. Pat it dry with a paper towel.
  3. Lightly coat with olive oil or melted butter (helps seasoning stick).

🌶 Step 2: Seasoning

  1. Coat all sides generously with BBQ rub.
  2. You can score the top in a criss-cross pattern for deeper flavor absorption.

🔥 Step 3: Smoking

🌡 Temperature:

  • 225°F (107°C)

🪵 Wood:

  • Hickory, Applewood, or Cherry (best flavor balance)

⏳ Step 4: Smoke It

  1. Place cream cheese on a foil tray or cast iron pan.
  2. Put it in the smoker.
  3. Smoke for 1.5 to 2 hours.

👉 You’ll see it soften and develop a golden-brown crust.


🍯 Step 5: Optional Glaze Finish

  • In last 15–20 minutes:
    • Drizzle honey OR BBQ sauce on top
    • Add jalapeños if you want spice

🍽 Serving Ideas

  • Spread on crackers
